The Hey Mr. squad is making the very best of current circumstances. We are all so grateful for the ability to work from the safety of our homes, and still give our clients the quality content they deserve! Nonetheless, working from home has definitely been an adjustment for the team, and we are sure it’s been an adjustment for anyone else who’s currently doing the same. With positivity in mind, our team wants to help lighten the mood by providing our BEST tips and tricks to productivity, balance, and fun during this time of staying inside. Afterward, stay tuned for a Q&A of each team member’s personal advice, plus some insider shots of our stellar at-home workspaces. Check it all out below!
Stay Focused!
Don’t lose sight of your daily routine. In order to optimize focus, our team recommends treating your work-from-home days like any other day at the office. Get ready, take a morning shower, work at an actual desk (if you have one), and keep the lines of communication with your team open! Most importantly, pick your work-music of choice and rock out to those tunes!
Stay Active!
Try to stay physically active – even from inside your home! Lately, it’s been easy to feel like the days are blending together and lack of motivation is becoming more and more appealing. Staying active will keep your endorphins flowing and allow for easier motivation to get through your days. Whether it’s Jane Fonda’s Greatest Hits, Hip-Hop Abs, or your favorite yoga instructor on YouTube – there are plenty of ways to get your blood pumping outside of the gym!
Take Breaks!
Working from home is strange in the sense that you almost feel the need to over-work yourself and dismiss the idea of taking breaks. (Or at least I feel this way, anyone else?) However, taking breaks throughout the day should still be a crucial part of your workflow to stay motivated and clear-headed. Do you have a furry friend at home to take out on a walk or play with for a few minutes? Or perhaps a good book to read during your lunch break? Even periodical stretching helps. Taking these micro-breaks will improve your work mindset and allow for better productivity!
Now that we’re all in the know about how to SLAY our working-from-home routines, check out a few of our team members’ inside scoops on advice, favorite activities, desk decor, and more!

Don’t do anything you wouldn’t do at work! You wouldn’t take a nap, watch TV or meal-prep at work, so don’t do that stuff when you’re working from home either. 😉

Maintain the work-home balance as much as possible! I’ve been waking up at the same time every day, getting ready (as in ‘would-be-socially-acceptable’ ready), and sitting at my desk to work!

Weights, stretching, and dancing around the house after a few glasses of wine! (After the work day is over, of course!)

Reading, spending time with my pupper, and getting the creative juices flowing by drawing my little heart out!

My ‘Catana Comics’ Calendar (This thing is life-changing and completely relatable for those who are in a long term relationship. It’s so cute!), a glass of tea, and an essential oil diffuser.

Keep my space organized, don’t couch-sit, and stay off social media until my work is done for the day!

Put on actual pants. It may sound strange, but as soon as you venture out of your pajama-filled world, your productivity will go way up.

Why isn’t Dance Dance Revolution still a thing? Honestly, it’ll probably have to be yoga. De-stress and get the heart rate up.

Looking up recipes and attempting to find the ingredients at the store!

A scented candle. I have a staggering amount of them at my apartment.
